Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions apply to all workshops, programmes and services provided by Ask & Embla Wood Co. ("Ask & Embla", "we", "our", or "us").

1. Enrolment

• Enrolment reserves a participant's place in a specific workshop group for the duration of the booked programme.
• Places are not held until payment has been received.
• Enrolments are non-transferable without prior approval from Ask & Embla.
• Ask & Embla reserves the right to decline or discontinue participation where we believe we cannot safely or appropriately accommodate a participant.

2. Weekly Term Programmes

Missed Sessions & Make-Up Classes

• Children may occasionally miss sessions due to illness, family commitments, school activities, holidays, or other unforeseen circumstances.
• Due to our small group sizes (maximum 5 participants), opportunities for make-up classes are limited.
• If your child is unable to attend, please let us know as soon as possible.
• Missed sessions are not refundable.
• Missed sessions cannot be credited towards future terms.
• Where suitable availability exists, Ask & Embla may offer a make-up class at its discretion.
• Make-up classes are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed.
• Any make-up class offered must be used within the same term and cannot be carried forward.
• Please do not attend if your child is unwell.

3. Casual Workshops

This section applies to Sunday Workshops, School Holiday Workshops, Adult & Child Workshops, and other one-off workshops unless otherwise stated.

Cancellations & Rescheduling

• Bookings are non-refundable.
• Participants may request to reschedule up to 5 days prior to the workshop date.
• Rescheduling requests are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed.
• Requests made within 5 days of a workshop are not eligible for rescheduling, transfers, credits, refunds, or make-up classes.
• If you are unable to attend, please notify Ask & Embla as soon as possible.

Transfers

• Bookings may be transferred to another participant with prior notice to Ask & Embla.
• Transfers are subject to the age requirements and suitability of the workshop.

Missed Workshops

• No refunds, credits, or make-up sessions are provided for missed workshops.

4. Birthday Parties

• Birthday party bookings are subject to availability.
• A deposit may be required to secure a booking.
• Final participant numbers must be confirmed prior to the event.
• Additional participants may only attend with prior approval from Ask & Embla.
• Cancellation and rescheduling terms will be confirmed at the time of booking.

5. Health & Medical Information

• Parents and carers are responsible for disclosing any medical conditions, allergies, disabilities, behavioural considerations, additional support needs, or other circumstances that may affect participation.
• This information should be provided prior to attendance wherever possible.
• Parents and carers must notify Ask & Embla of any changes to previously disclosed medical information, behavioural considerations, additional support needs, or circumstances that may affect participation.
• Ask & Embla reserves the right to decline or discontinue participation where we believe we cannot safely accommodate a participant.

6. Safety & Behaviour

The safety of all participants is our highest priority.

• Participants must follow all workshop instructions, safety requirements, and directions from Ask & Embla staff at all times.
• Participants must use tools, materials, and equipment as instructed.
• Unsafe behaviour, including rough play, physical interference, distracting others while tools are being used, or misuse of tools or equipment, is not permitted.
• Ask & Embla reserves the right to refuse participation or remove a participant from a session where behaviour presents a safety risk to themselves, other participants, instructors, tools, equipment, or the workshop environment.
• Ask & Embla reserves the right to require a participant to be collected early where this is necessary to maintain a safe workshop environment.
• No refund will be provided where participation is terminated due to unsafe behaviour.

7. Participation & Inherent Risk

• Woodworking involves the use of tools, timber, workshop equipment, sharp edges, dust, and other activities that carry an inherent level of risk.
• While Ask & Embla takes reasonable steps to provide a safe and supervised environment, participation involves inherent risks.
• By attending, participants and their parents/carers acknowledge these risks and agree to follow all workshop instructions and safety requirements at all times.

8. First Aid

• In the event of an injury or medical incident, parents/carers authorise Ask & Embla to administer basic first aid where appropriate.
• Where necessary, Ask & Embla may seek emergency medical assistance.

9. Photography

• Ask & Embla may photograph workshop activities, participants, and completed projects for promotional, educational, and marketing purposes.
• Parents/carers who do not wish their child to appear in photographs must notify Ask & Embla prior to attendance.

10. Personal Property

• Participants are responsible for their own personal belongings.
• Ask & Embla accepts no responsibility for loss, theft, or damage to personal property brought to workshops.

11. Workshop Changes & Cancellations

• Ask & Embla reserves the right to reschedule, combine, relocate, modify, or cancel sessions where reasonably necessary.
• Where Ask & Embla cancels a session, participants will be offered a suitable replacement session, transfer, credit, or refund.

12. Acceptance of These Terms

By making a booking, enrolling in a programme, or attending a workshop, participants and/or their parents or carers acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
